  1. What is your role at Confex and how long have you worked here?
My role at Confex is Sales Administrator in Central Distribution and Iíve worked here since November 2015.
  2. What did you do before joining Confex?
Iíve worked in various administration roles. After University, I worked as a Graduate Intern in the Undergraduate Office at Aston Business School. I was then offered a job in the same office as a Placement Assistant helping Undergraduate students find placements for their compulsory year at work. After that I moved onto a Student Support Co-ordinator role, helping students with all aspects of their studies, working there for a total of five years.
  3. What do you do when you’re not at Confex?
I enjoy running and taking part in charity work, in particular I support Cancer Research UK by running Race for Life every year and working in their Charity shop on a Sunday. I also enjoy yoga, meditation, reading, writing, hiking, baking and photography.
  4. If you were able to retire tomorrow, how would you spend your time?
I would spend my time involved with causes close to my heart. I also wouldnít mind living somewhere hot and sunny and practicing my yoga every day!
  5. Who inspires you?
I donít have a particular person that inspires me as such, but I always feel inspired by real life stories of ordinary people who have overcome difficulties and struggles to realize their goals and be successful in their own right. Iím currently reading Katie Piperís book and feel very inspired by her bravery and determination.
  6. What type of business would you go into, if it wasn’t wholesale?
I would probably go into publishing or something related as Iíve always loved books and reading Ė one of the reasons I went to University of Birmingham to read English.
  7. What is the most interesting place you have visited and why?
I was lucky to have done some travelling in my gap year before University; I went to Thailand, Australia and New Zealand which were all interesting in very different ways! However, recently I went to Budapest and fell in love with it! It is a beautiful city, with lots of greenery, fantastic architecture and lots to do.
  8. What do you like about working at Confex?
I really like the people that I work with, everyone is so lovely and there is a nice atmosphere at work Ė so important when you spend every day there! I also like working for a small company because you feel really valued as an individual; youíre not just another number!
